I mean, really. At rallies around the country, Union officials and government ministers link arms and don smug smiles to declare, "Business must create jobs." How exactly, when the country has been entirely shut down since last week Thursday because of public holidays commemorating vague and not-quite-there events

I don't think any of the core group at my company has taken a holiday, like, ever... or even knows Sunday from Wednesday.

I can guarantee you that, if you relocate to Cape Town, they will all suddenly discover the previously unknown "little weekend" on Wednesdays.

i got R80 an hour for deigning to go to green point today. i like bank holidays for this reason.

but ugh. how can you have so many holidays in a country with such high unemployment when nobody wants to work?
