Don't let her get to you kid. Just ignore her, she's hopeless.

But David, she's just a scared little girl hiding behind this big 'ol front!

No, sweetie that's just what your idealistic optimism-ridden brain wants you to think.

You keep talking to her, egging her on, and she's going to hurt you beyond what some psychopathic guy from the street could do. There's not much I could anyone could do to help you if that happened.

Or, you know, my psychologically trained mind makes me believe this.

I doubt she'd actually go through and hurt someone. Maybe revenge in some other form, but violence? If anything, violence against herself. She broke her own hand.

[A few minutes later, noticing that he wrote "sweetie" in the above comment, David hastily scribbles it out.]

Violence against herself could turn into violence against another person and that includes psychologically trained young girls.

If you actually go through with this crusade of moral redemption of a lost soul, kid, you're going to get hurt. Because one day, fifteen minutes or fifteen years down the road, she's going to lash out and you're going to be her target.

She needs someone to talk to.

Deep down, Rose Bloom has a soul, David. Can't you be optimistic sometimes? Though even I find that hard to believe sometimes

The only thing optimism does is impair our judgment and make people slaves to sentimentality.

David, you should go somewhere sunny on a vacation! Maybe it'd make you lighten up a bit!

I'd much rather prefer to stew around in my misery, but thank you for the amiable gesture.

That's not very fun.

Seems like you've got your hands full already.

He's kind of unpleasant, isn't he? But seems to have gotten himself in quite the pickle!

He may be unpleasant and derisive, but the kid's as harmful as a box of hair.

He probably has a reason for being generally so unpleasant. Bad childhood, maybe. Though I had a bad childhood and I'm not unpleasant so I guess that can't be an excuse for everyone.

I read about that, and good for you for not giving in, kid.
