Its been an interesting past week. This weekend, I went home to Northern California for some "R&R" but it didn't feel all that relaxing or restfull. My Mom dragged me to the urgent care facility and it turns out I have an ingrown toe-nail they're going to be opperating on. I wouldn't exactly lable that as requireing Urgent care, but she thought they were going to amputate it or something: it's all in love so whatever, its cool and it got me out of the house for an hour or so (wasn't a line really).
Research Paper 1st Draft turned in yesterday. Almost didn't get it in because my computer would not start up yesterday morning. I worked on it for an hour until I finally got the battery out and it rebooted when I tried. Made me late to my Sensation & Perception class by 10 minutes, which sucked. I'm actually starting to like that class, but only because I suppliment it with my own quandaries.
My spelling is probably horrible this morning, isn't it? :p
Celebrate CalPIRG week next week. Crazy stuff. If you still need to pledge, let me know (AIM: JupiterJazz85, or leave a message here). I'll be out on Ring Road as much as I can fit in next week, scouring the land for people to pledge their support for the enviornment, higher education, hunger and homelessness, and all the good stough. Scouring, althought the right word, probably wasn't the best choice (considering what scouring means in regards to trees).
The first midterm set is always the one I do the worst on. But I usually forget that and get all upset about it. So far, I have 2 B+'s which some people might think is good. Note, however, I havent had 2 B+'s since my first quarter at UCI. Usually its just one. Next Round, I promise, they'll be high A's. On the subject, the schools grading system is unevenly balanced to support B+ students. Notice that a B+ is worth 3.35 gradepoints, where a B is 3.0. Now, thats all and good. I'd like it if I got a B+ and my little bit of extra work showed on my grades. BUT HERES THE THING: an A is a 4.0, and an A- is a 3.75. There is NO way to get an A+, so the grading system makes it more difficult to maintain your GPA at higher levels. This means that the students who already work hard to get good grades have to work even harder to maintain them than say the students who slide by with C+'s, who obviously need to work harder to get their grades in order (or at least they should). Fucking crappy ass shit. So for we students who occasionally get A-'s (my typical average is somewhere between A- and A), it really sucks because there is no way to offset an A- with another grade. A B+ and a B- average out to 2 Bs. An A- and an A still average out to an A-. Rediculous the logic of some people.
Well I've probably just about talked you into submission by now, so I'll leave it here.
Toute mon amour
