Clutter Queen here. I have a tiara. It's made from spools of ribbon of craft projects I never started/finished, origami fashioned from old telephone bills, and a pair of cleats with a hole in the toe the size of Denver. A friend once refused to put her purse down in my apartment because she was afraid she wouldn't find it again.
I will clarify, I don't like filth. There are not cockroaches and mice running through my home, the toilets are perfectly clean, the dishes are mostly done, the carpet is swept, the cat fur is lint rolled off the couch, and even the kitchen floor is mopped. It may be a bit dusty. I tend to forget dust, dust and windows.
But bookcases are overflowing with books. The kitchen table is covered in a puzzle and sewing machine. Things are often neatly stacked and placed, but there's a ton of it. I like stuff. You can't enjoy working in retail and not be somewhat entranced with consumerism (i.e. acquiring stuff). Stuff is fun. Stuff is cool. We need more stuff!
So I have bookcases to prettily display my stuff. I also have towers of books stacked next to my bookcases. I have a book obsession. Someone gave me a feng shui book. I read the book. I don't buy into feng shui, but I did read a part that said to truly move on with a new direction in your life, you needed to let go of the old.
There is a lot of the STUFF that I don't really want anymore, but I have a hard time parting with, but now, I think I NEED the stuff to go away. One thing I really hate is old bills and papers and stuff like that, but I'm not allowed to just throw it out anymore, it has to be shredded. My old shredder is dead. Which means to get rid of the stuff I like least, I must now buy another STUFF. Will I find my way out of the stuff?
