vs

Daniel Day-Lewis (Best Actor 2008, There Will Be Blood) vs Javier Bardem (Best Supporting Actor 2008, No Country for Old Men)

Two great actors, two great roles, two great films, and two great catch phrases. I like to think of this as "I will drink your milkshake!" vs "Call it." Which one is in it to win it? Vote to decide.

Winner:
Daniel Day-Lewis (11 votes)
over
Javier Bardem (5 votes)

It kind of looked close for a little while there, but Daniel Day-Lewis took off in a way that Javier Bardem just couldn't match. Disappointed as I am that Bardem won't be going on in this competition, it will be interesting to see how Day-Lewis fares, considering the kind of support he got...

Featured commentary:
I vote for Daniel Day-Lewis. Not because of any actual expectation of winning, i suspect these guys are pretty evenly matched, but because he played Tomas in the Unbearable Lightness of Being. That means he's got some compassion and tenderness in his soul. An evil man would gloat and torment his opponent, while the compassionate man would just end it quickly, one swift jerk of the neck, followed by a week of crying his poor eyes out. Poor, poor, sad Daniel Day-Lewis. - whatsupdog
