Today's Match-Up: Obama vs Baraka

vs

Barack Obama (current contender for the Democratic presidential candidacy) vs Baraka (Mortal Kombat fighter, nomadic mutant?)

The first official fight of the new Who's Da Boss 2008 starts with a bang, pitting current Democratic frontrunner Obama against Ed's favorite Mortal Kombat character. Which one has it in them to make it through to Round Deuce and maybe even on to the hallowed title of Boss? That's up to you to decide.

Winner:
Baraka (15 votes)
over
Barack Obama (9 votes)

Baraka took an early lead, and though Obama made a good comeback, he just couldn't match Baraka's sheer blade-armed-ness. I am also pleased to report that we had a good turnout on our first match, and that there were so many great commentaries that it was pretty much impossible to choose one to feature.

Featured commentary:
Look, we all know how that would go down. The match starts, Baraka has blades, and so forth and so forth. Obama starts to speak, and Baraka just has to clap. Because whether you like Obama or are trapped in a gladiatorial deathmatch with him, he's still a damn good speaker. Of course, clapping is a poor decision when you're equipped with arm swords. Axelrod, clever man that he is, covers up Baraka's health bar with a sheet so that the dude can't see that he's getting hurt. Moments later, the warrior collapses armless.
This is nothing new to Obama; that was also how he won his debates with noted arm-blade wielders the Predator, Wolverine, John Boehner, Arlen Specter, and Hunter Ghor. - brotherlawrence
