Taking a bit of a break from this canvas thing. I've begun restoring bits and pieces of it, similar to the way Muggle paintings are done. The charmwork's very confusing and doesn't make much sense, since when restoring a Wizard painting you generally don't have a reference and there is much more involved in it than simply paint; you've got not only a broken spell, I guess, but a visual/physical change as well. There's also the chance that you've got a very stroppish individual hovering about, peering in on you from the fully-functional portraits on display in any and every room in the castle.. only to criticise you on the progress you have or have not made on their own.
It is wicked, though, once you have your eyes modified to be able to do the work. It's a bit hard to explain, but with it on you can look at a portrait and see what it looked like before it had taken on a 'life' of its own. The stationary beginning, to put it lamely. It's shadowy, almost, and a bit hard to make out, but it's there, like some faded backdrop. 3-D gone mad.
I've been wondering a bit on something. Sort of this nagging thing, that's got me to wondering over something I've read once. A quote from a while ago. It went "hesitant is the worse thing you can be", or close to that. And I think I've begun to agree. There isn't anything wrong with seeing an opportunity and then doing something about it, when you're the only one who would be unhappy had you not at least tried.
