ADMIN: Fanfiction Contest Round 2 is OPEN!!!
So while I only got one other person who wanted a round 2, that's still one more person than me so it's a go. I will be busy blowing my paycheck on the 1st (and writing up fanfics that I need to write before I post the next huge fic in my All Of Time And Space series tomorrow), so it's going up tonight. Just consider it two extra days to get the creative juices flowing.
The contest will go from 8/30/12 to 10/31/12 11/15/12.
Once again, there will be three prompts. This round it is a gif, a general prompt and a set of song lyrics. There are rules, and they are different than last round, so please read them carefully.
1. We are not differentiating between drabble and full length fic this round, so there are only three tags this round. However, to make it more fair, you may enter up to 3 fics of any length for each prompt.
2. Fics must be a minimum of 100 words, and there is no maximum.
3. Fics must include at least one Sherlock character and one Whoniverse character (ie, a character who has appeared on Doctor Who, Torchwood or The Sarah Jane Adventures). Also, while all the entries last round involved Nu Who characters, you are more than welcome to include classic Who characters who might still be alive during any point that a Sherlock character has been involved. So if you want to use Jo Grant and a young Molly Hooper for example, that would be fine.
4. Fics can include any pairing, het or slash, and threesomes (or moresomes) as well. Your pairing does not need to be one Sherlock character and one Whoniverse character; it can be two Sherlock characters or two Whoniverse characters.
5. This round we are allowing NC-17 works; please note, however, that you must mark them as having Explicit Adult Content in the Adult Content section of LJ's posting form, and please understand that not everyone voting will be able to read them.
6. You must use one of the following tags for your entry, depending on which prompt you pick: *contest #3/prompt 1, *contest #3/prompt 2 and *contest #3/prompt 3. If you do not tag your entry I will not see it when it comes time for me to post the voting poll.
7. Fics posted for the contest must be posted on LJ at minimum. If you want to include links to AO3, Fanfiction.net and/or Tumblr as well that's fine, but there must be an LJ link included. That is the link I will use in the voting poll.
Prize: I still need to award our winner of last round her prize, but there is also a prize for the Best Overall Fanfic. It will be a $10 gift certificate to the website of your choice, provided I am able to get a second job before the end of October. So the prize might be given out late, but it will get given. And of course, first, second and third place winners for each prompt and for overall fics will be given personalized banners.
