Bright light, flickering, static, noise. A flock of pigeons goes whistling and flapping through the sky, unsettled. The image comes in to focus on someone half in frame, someone very still, someone very grave, someone watching.
In the distance, smoke and destruction.
He watches. He studies the skyline.
The pigeons circle around again.
This is not the rooftop he was looking for. Must have taken a wrong turn at that last skyscraper. It's certainly not a dream. Not. As. Planned.
The glint of light on metal attracts his eye: the Network device. He turns to it, disinterested, but smiling.]
Satsuki. One of your toys?
[A hand covers the device, blocking it out, silencing it and--
