I saw the end tonight
But I wasn't afraid
No, I welcomed it with open arms
And a smile

There's something to be said of heroes
Fighting against all odds
The lone warrior, raising his sword
Against the vast horde
His end inevitable

There's something to be said of men
Who dash off at the first sign of danger
The lone savior, racing to save
His love from doom
His end inevitable

These have stood the test of time
They have shown their strength of character
Of heart, soul, and mind
They faced their ends

But I am no hero
And I question if I am a man
I didn't fight against a horde
Nor did I save a woman

All I did was stand still
And look into the eyes of a girl
I didn't fight, I didn't argue,
I just said I would be here, and
I smiled as she walked away

I saw the end tonight
It was close, but not yet here
I don't know if it will return
But I know I am ready
For time tested me, and I passed
With a smile
