Fifth Doctor scarf

I decided to make a Fifth Doctor scarf and finished it this morning.

I couldn't find a pattern for this sort of scarf, so I came up with my own design. One thing I wanted to do was include a question mark woven into the scarf. Since I've only been knitting since March and had never done anything like that, I researched the subject a bit and decided to try double knitting for the first time ever, because it was the best way I could come up with to create the look I wanted.

Originally I wanted to knit a question mark pattern at one end of the scarf and a celery design on the other end. My efforts to knit recognizable celery did not go well, so I scrapped that idea and just put a question mark at either end. If anyone knows a way of producing a good celery design, though, I'd love to hear it.

This scarf is about 300 rows long (which was not planned; I was pretty much winging it the whole time), and has 34 stitches per row, of which 17 show up on either side. It's a little over five feet long, not counting the tassels. Since I knit two sides, of course, it's basically ten feet worth of knitting. I was going to make it somewhat longer, but that was before I decided to knit another version that should reach around six feet.

As for mistakes, although it's not especially clear in the pictures, my tension in the beginning was looser than I'd like. Also, the question marks are a bit different from each other since I wasn't totally satisfied with the way the first one looked. The second one is a little narrower and shorter. So this scarf is version A, and I will be making an improved version. I might include different (or additional) designs in that one: for instance, the celery, if I can figure out how to knit some that looks right. Not sure which other designs I might try. Suggestions are welcome!

Also, if I did anything wrong or you see anything that especially needs improvement, please point it out.
