Ronald Weasley

“Kyle,” was Hermione’s second word of the morning. The first had been a quick “Morning!” to Ron, as she had run off in search of her best friend Kyle. It must have been obvious that she was in a better mood, because Kyle had the sudden urge to grin upon seeing her, even though he was working off of only 4 and a half hours of sleep ( Read more... )

Friday. Last day of the week. Time for a break? Ron couldn't actually agree with that ideology which so many people had adopted. Instead, he was sitting at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall reading the same Transfiguration paragraph repeatedly. Maybe he could commit it to memory if he tried hard enough.

"Ron!" Hermione called, breathlessly. She had enough tact to wait until she was three people away. Kyle trailed behind, looking on warily.

Realizing she needed a good way to pull him away from the crowds, she added, "I've got something to show you." She gave him a look that read, If you don't realize what I'm hinting at, I'll drag you out by the ears.

WHy was Hermione always skrieking his name like that? Okay, so maybe it wasn't shrieking since that would be ultimately un-Hermione.

He looked up and it took him all of five seconds to get why she'd be rushing to find him. "Right. Let's go." Ron grabbed his work and stood to followe her.

He almost felt bad for Kyle. The guy looked like he'd never wanted to be somewhere less.

Hermione nodded in approval, before bustling her way out of the Great Hall. She tried not to flush, as she figured there was at least one pair of eyes on her.

ooc: Chrissy, I'm so sorry this is taking me forever. I have midterms, and I'm freaking out. <333 I'll only respond to this thread, I swear.

Everyone watching barely registered to Ron as he followed behind the girl, keepign up easily.

"Where in hell are we going anyway?"

ooc: you don't have to have excuses about school to me. it's the second week and i'm spazzing over papers.

"I figured the easiest place to talk would be the library."

The Ravenclaws that usually occupied it were getting the grades anyway, and the kids who would be studying for their decent grades wouldn't have a chance in hell at doing well no matter what. Who'd be in the library?

ooc: I know hon. At least we're in the same boat, and you understand.

"That's fine." He trailed along behind her and thought of what Parvati had told him about Dumbledore. "We may have bigger problems than...this too. But one step at a time."

Plus, he wasn't sure he wanted to mention it around Kyle.

"I'll let you two go off then, yeah?" Kyle touched Hermione's shoulder, once he was beside her. He had prefect duties to do. "I know you can handle it," he added reassuringly.

Hermione nodded, trying not to look as fearful as she was. "Alright, yeah, of course. Go do what you need to do."

Her eyes widened in disbelief at Ron's words. "Bigger problems?"

Ron watched Kyle head off before he looked around. THere were a couple people so he didn't say anything. "Wait for it."

Once they'd made it into the scarcely populated library and to one of the most secluded tables, he went on. "I talked to Vati....Tonks basically told her Dumbledore's gone...diappeared." He waved a hand on impulse as if he really needed to demonstrate.

"Something happened to him....Parvati thinks Harry's involved." The entire way through his explanation, his tone had been so low he could barely hear himself, but he was leaning close enough that he hoped he wouldn't have to repeat it.

"Well, it probably did," she admitted softly, "But we can't jump to conclusions." Hermione's final remark was firm.

"Anyway, you've got to look at this," she opened the book, acting as though he'd just automatically pick up on it.

At least someone finally agreed with him that they couldn't just automatically assume it. Even if Harry's involvement was probably true. But Ron was rather like a favorite labrador retriever sometimes, far too loyal.

He pulled the book toward himself and looked down at it reading the page over. "All right, Hermione, tell me what's got you all excited here. I know what this is-" He knew it was the reversal, "but which part am I supposed to be amazed by?"

"This."

She traced her finger along the first line, softly reading aloud the entire passage.

"Dual purity, Ron," Hermione repeated, looking at him intently, "What does that mean to you?"

"Double pure." He didn't get subtle meanings, especially under pressure, it was always best to give it to him straight.

Ron wasn't a complete idiot, he had an idea. But how the hell would love have anythign to do with anything? Or how would they even use that?

who_is_kyle January 23 2007, 03:55:27 UTC
"Right, two things pure, but what I meant was, does anything strike your memory right away?"

She continued to stare at him in the same way, unaware that she wasn't helping by putting him under pressure

"Spit it out, Hermione or we'll be here all night." He had a sort of phobia of saying the wrong answer to Hermione. Those damn looks she gave him when he did were annoying

She looked slightly disappointed as she argued, "Well, I wanted to know whether you'd have any better ideas, without mine swaying yours!" Hermione knew better than to yell in the library, so this came out in the form of a hiss.

"Fine," she scowled, knowing the need for haste once more, "I was thinking about unicorn hair... but my other idea is a little bit rocky." She only hesitated about this part because she felt Ron would shoot the idea down immediately. But she knew it had to be possible... somehow.

If Harry's mum could save him through love, then so can we!

ooc: Will you hate me if I go to bed now? >_>
