i hate to keep saying this...

but i'm fully overwhelmed by the ever-accumulating task of recording my life lately. thus, i'll attempt a quick, very general recap now to try and in no way catch up.

major events in my life as of late:

1) my friends and i got a house for next year and are currently planning out how to make it shockingly beautiful while also warm

2) my classes are going well as far as can be told--i'm taking early 20th century art, 19th century architecture, post-modernist literature, and a literature of the enlightenment class that's required of my major.

3) I finally saw mirah with thyra, jen, and ali in the most random, tiny bar on federal hill. before the show i went up to the merchandise table and asked who all was on the EP for sale and the girl behind the counter answered, "well....i have one on there and then a few of my friends are on there too..." i was talking to mirah and i didn't even get awkward. later she even had to go the bar to break a 20 for me, it felt weird. when she played the garden we got to keep the beat by stomping and clapping, so that felt good... i loved the show, but wished she'd had full instrumentation. oo, but! cold water was kinda sorta life-changing.

4) things have been genrally incredibly fun around here--lots of stellas, hoegaarden's with floating pineapples, parties, and many many obscure 1980's children's fantasy movies as of late (since i've located someone who lead a parallel childhood full of teenage mutant ninja turtles, the labyrinth, clifford, willow and the last unicorn).

5) ali and i went to new york over the long weekend and stayed with her awesome friend meghann at nyu. we saw the gates, went to quite the lavish party, ate and drank unlimited beer at china beer, shopped in soho, and met up with thyra and anika to find ourselves in a spacious penthouse in new york overlooking the sears tower on a saturday night.

6) i'm applying to internships to live and work in new york this summer. i'm not sure any of them will work out, or if i even have a chance, but here's to trying since i'd die to be there instead of nashville this summer--aka i'd die in nashville and any and everywhere would be a better idea if i can possibly afford it.

7) last night we all finally got our act together and booked flights and hotels for new orleans...shya. i cannot wait and don't really have to since it's so soon. the final roll is me, ali, jon, john, and jen and my final price is under $200 since i had 2 free southwest tickets from flying them so much. ALSO, we just happened to have a plane change in nashville, so i get to stay there for a couple days before going on back to providence.
