take the lead and stick it

so it looks like i'll be staying in princeton for most of the summer. i'm spending the first 6 weeks taking a french reading course; then i hope to take a few research/fun trips during the rest of my time off--maybe boston, LA and SF, perhaps Chicago, and, of course, the ATL. All my friends seem to be journeying out of the states for the summer, though, which sounds much more fun. i'm thinking i should figure out a way to spend january or something in buenos aires, like doing preliminary research and practicing spanish or something like that, if i could get the uni to fund it. we'll see.

lately, i've been interested in the theoretical notion of the "event" and it's connection to the emergence of social forms, including, more broadly, the question of how to theorize emergence in historical and ethnographic contexts. i'm really bored with agency. so bored. like, i wish people would just stop writing books about it. it's so 8 yrs ago it's not funny.

take the lead sucked major ass, but it was still funny as hell. can't wait to go see stick it!
