narnia, no; brokeback, yes
narnia SUCKS!!! i used to love the version that played on public tv when i was younger, so i was looking forward to the new version. but it's completely horrible. i hated the kid actors. the little girl had the ugliest, stupidest smile. the younger boy was a useless moron whose character they never even attempted to develop. the older girl did almost NOTHING the enitre movie. oh wait, she shot ONE FUCKING person with an arrow. the older boy was okay, i guess. but yeah. NARNIA = SHITE!!!
contrary to my expectation, i was fairly pleased with brokeback. it wasn't the tear-jerker i thought it would be, which is good. i like to cry at a good movie as much as the next girl, but i didn't want it to be a cheap, musically-inspired forces cry. and this movie didn't offer that. it was pretty subtle in dealing with sexuality/relationships, actually; more complex than the gay love story it was made out to be, at least. i'm slightly biased because i'm obsessed with jake gyllenhall, but i thought it was good.
new years was spent at a fabulous dinner party hosted by the wonderful stan, followed by the countdown at blakes with michael, stan, greg, and others. i didn't drink or stay out too late though, cause i seem to have developed a sucky case of bronchitis. *coughs*
one day soon i need to start these three papers i have due when i get back to jersey . . .
