my brain is slowly rotting from lack of stimulation in dahlonega. i could read . . . but who really reads when they're at home-home???!!! i tried the one local coffee shop today, but they were closed . . .
i have been doing some reading, actually. i started As Nature Made Him, the story of David Reimer who was raised as a girl after a botched circumcision. it's really captivating. at some point, i supposed i'll have to move on to bourdieu's outline, but i'm trying to avoid unintelligible writing whilst i can.
it finally donned on me how sucky it is that pton grad students (including myself) haven't really been supporting nyu students. we totally suck. i'm also annoyed that i haven't been adamant enough about deploring the suckiness of pton's new DCE status. it's fucking ridiculous for the grad school to ask 6th yrs to pay 4500 for post-enrolled status. the university has entirely too much funding for this shittiness. instead of being (unfairly) pissed at 6th yrs for cutting into my summer funding, i plan to be more active in supporting all grad students and demanding a fair shake from the grad school.
