so today i went to a rally at princeton for national coming out day. i suppose it was a good turn out, for pton at least. the weather's been shitty though, so it was a bit depressing. i do miss the good ole days of NCOD at ga state . . .
speaking of which, what is this closet of which other-toni speaks???? i think we had that idea back in the days of yore, but it never materialized (alas, we must have been too hegelian back then).
lately i've been reading jacquelyn stone (sexuality and the field of vision) and juliet mitchtell (feminism and psychoanalysis)--they remind me how much i love psychoanalysis, especially in its more lacanian-but-not-yet-zizekian incarnations.
we've also been reading about biopolitics (read: the anthro of agamben worship) for my anthro of the state course. i'm so tired of reading about how everything relates to zoe and bios. fuck them both. not that i don't think the concepts are interest. quite the contrary. but can we please be a little more subtle in our theory-cult practices????
that being said, i loved this article by judith farquhar and some other guy on yangsheng (life cultivating) practices in beijing and how they constitute a subtle political counter to post-maoist policies.
i'm hungry and i want to sleep.
