- I use the phrase "neoki ga warui" when speaking about myself in Japanese all the time, but I've never found a perfect English equivalent. I suppose it translates best as "a bad riser" but it seems like there's more to it than that.. Plus, it's just easier to say in Japanese; I kinda prefer saying that to "I find it hard to get out of bed in the morning." xD;
- I love "chotto." I wish I could use it as freely as I do in Japanese.
- "Chairo," brown, conveys more meaning in Japanese than its English equivalent. I've always found it pretty.
- I love the word "tanpopo" too, it's just so cute.
On the contrary, there are a lot of expressions in Japanese I really don't like. I hate the word "kawaii." Not because it's horribly overused, but because it's awkward to say when you want to convey such a simple meaning. I always have to remember to put stress on the "ii" and it's just annoying. Why isn't their word for "cute" cute?!
