And another night is lost to something, but at least it wasn't family...

Oh, my goodness. I never, never fall in love with a new show until it is at least half way through the first season, with a couple of exceptions... Pretender, SG-1, and now Leverage. Of course, SG-1 doesn't really count because I didn't start watching it until it was in the third season.

Leverage. Which I wasn't going to watch, but I liked the long haired fast kid and figured I'd just watch the premiere and then go happily back to fighting with the wording on Picture Puzzles (which after NaNoWriMo means replacing simple to spell words with whatever I really meant to type). Only it didn't work like that. Not at all. I was hooked, just like I loved Jarod on Pretender I adored Eliot Spencer and liked the rest of them too. So, I lost the entire night tonight to NCIS, The Mentalist (of which I like Jane and oh, Jane), and Leverage. And two minutes into the Leverage I decided that this, oh, this was soooo crossing over with something. I've no idea what yet, but something.

I hate the civilian contractors that while trying to help, harm way more soldiers than they do good for. I'm a little touchy about it actually. I wasn't safe in my own barracks from someone in my own squad, but I'd still trust him to cover my six before trusting one of those trigger happy, jumpy, jumped up, cowboys. Yeah, that bad. Plus, you know, I was Army, so I love it when it's about my branch.

On the fanfiction front, I haven't gotten anything done (yeah, I know). I managed to finish NaNo by the seat of my pants and ended up with two scenes from the wrong chapter of Tales Told, so it wasn't a complete lost of a month. The new carpet is cool, but that meant moving everything in the house. I have to get up ever three minutes on average to fix something for someone (not counting pets). The littlest kitten Pumpkin has had trouble with bacteria in her bowels, so that's been fun. She'll be fine, but she's not putting on the weight she ought to be. I've been sick to boot. And with all the excuses out of the way...I just haven't been able to get the story down right. It keeps verging off at Troll for the event and really I'm not adding another chapter. Maybe break the chapters different to handle LJ's word limit....Anyway, I know way too many people that want in on the limelight. Since Troll it usually a person's first experience with how SCA people met and greet it has to come across right and it's just not. Then I get frustrated and read fic while I think about it.

Which is how I found this A Ranger, a Flyboy and a Special Agent Walk into a Bar… which is Lennox/Sheppard/DiNozzo by laura_trekkie  and very cool.

Plus, cute stuff to end...I let Thumper and Pumpkin out on leashes to walk on the snow this evening. Pumpkin treated it like it was carpet and started pouncing everything. Thumper ate it. Yes, my big kitten eats snow. Chomps it right down. (The smaller Yorkie eats ice, so I don't know why I'm surprised.)

Now I'm off to bed. So, not dead, but still disappointing on the fic. Sorry.
