Wow, what a day.
Thank you to everyone that has wished me happy birthday. Also thanks for the gifts of fic and virtual bubbly. Very cool. So very cool. :D Thanks.
Since it is my birthday I took off of work and ended up running around Kansas City with my parents. I bought six new hermit crabs of a species commonly called Ruggies. They are supposed to be more active and bolder than the more common (in my area) Purple Pincers.
It saddens me to see them in the pet stores. The pet store for my new little ones was no different. They were starving. Currently, four of the six are sitting on the food shells eating as fast as their pincers will move. You can always tell when they are truly hungry when they use both pincers to move food instead of just the little 'feeder' pincer.
At any rate I brought home six ranging in size and color. One is very white and quickly changed out of the far-too-small shell into a purl colored shell his size. The other big one who is grey and bluish changed into a turbo shell more his size. I saw he was ready to molt, big gel sac on the left side, when he shifted shells. Poor guy is missing a leg and has little cracks on the side of his body behind his eyes. I wouldn't have brought him, except I felt sorry for him when he was trying to dig down in the fish gravel the pet store had as ground for them.
Oh. And my Kindle shipped today. :D It should get here by Tuesday. We'll see. That's okay though. I finally figured out a workaround for the annoying thing with Amazon's website for Kindle books. Isn't great, but it'll have to do.
I was trying to get something done in the way of porn for House fic to put up today, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Driving all day and settling new pets has left me beat. *waves* Night everyone. Thanks again.
