There should be more writing, I think.

You know everyone worries aobut their writing, from grammar to spelling, characterizations, whatever. A lot of people never try to write, but wish they could. Some people write, but never show their work to anyone. And then there's me.

I always loved reading fanfictions becuase I knew I couldn't write them. Knew it. I wrote my novels and built my ( Read more... )

Hi, *waves* I have been reading your work, and commenting (I think) about how much I love your stories.
I just read this, and I immediately thought 'this is exactly how I feel!'
I've been reading fanfic for a long time, and I have lots of stories in my head and I even planned out writing some of them. Then one day I was looking for something (in the Harry Potter fandom) and I just couldn't find what I wanted. So I decided to write it. Again, I'm not the best speller, and grammar and I are not always on speaking terms, but I just needed to write. Now, I'm so glad I did. It's such a good feeling to write a story, and even if it't not the best piece of writing out there, at least I tired.
Okay, now that I've let that all out, I really just wanted to say 'it's good that another person feels the same way I do.'
Oh, and I look forward to reading more of your work :)

Hi. *waves back* Yes, I remember you from comments. :)
Yippee! It's not just me! I'm glad you decided to write. It doesn't have to be the best thing out there, because who's to say what's the best anyway. I don't read HP fanfics myself. I have issues with some of the themes that I've seen explored within the 'verse.

:) Now that I'm not square dancing eveing after eveing I'll be writing, so I'll have more ready soon.

My problem is a complete lack of motivation. I have the spelling, grammar and a smidge of talent, but I'd rather let other people (read: you) do the hard part, while I sit back and read.
I can totally see where you're coming from, it was my problem when I first got into fanfiction (11 years ago) which was probably a good thing, because I was nine, and nine year-olds just shouldn't try writing fanfiction, or anything substantive, for that matter. Thank goodness I didin't discover porn until I was twelve.
BTW, my icon *points* is the reason I'm a pervy old woman, and related to the reason I got into fanfiction.

Ah. Well, if you were given a promt and a reward fic if you got off your butt and wrote, would you?
Hehe, and see I was 12 when I started reading fanfiction (Young Riders, if anyone remembers that sortlived show) and I didn't find porn for a whole three months. :)
Uh. I'd like to hear the story of this icon, which by the way (along with other icons of yours) I love, should you like to share some time. :D

If the reward were thousands of dollars, maybe.

I have the same problems that you seem to have sometimes. The words disappear between my brain and my fingers, or words get added and I have NO CLUE how they got there. Sometimes as I'm writing I forget two paragraphs ago that I had someone stand up, thus they can't be getting ready to stand up two paragraphs later...sigh ( ... )

Yep, I do all of that. I've done it my whole life. I've gotten better at spoting some of the things I do, but no better at not doing them. :P

Uh huh. I can understand. For a long time I felt like crap even though nothing was really wrong in my life. Writing was really hard sometimes. I kept at it because writing was one of the only things I had that was mine at the time.
Sometimes nudging helps, but I always feel like I'm pushing too much when I try to encourage people (not that it seems to stop me. :P ).
You too, huh? Well, I'm 26 and tech stuff just hates me, so does paperwork. I won't get the paycheck I was supposed to get last week until next week because a computer ate my paperwork. *sigh*
Sure, you can friend me. :D I like friends.
