Harry Potter: The Exhibition

The harry potter exhibit was fantastic. It was nothing drastically awesome, and the exhibit part of if seemed rather lacking. That is, I expected there to be a little blurb on special effects and for it to be filled with fun, quirky facts. I expected some relation to "science," even tenuous. But, even lacking those things I expected, it was ( Read more... )

We saw it Sunday, and hope to get my thoughts on it up tonight or soon. I really enjoyed the costumes, though I have seen the films so many times I nopticed that some of the display costumes were not actually the ones filmed, details were different.

I hav a friend who made his own DL wand and it looks far more like bone than the "official" wand.

Glad you had fun, we went in costume and had fun interacting with the kids and not so kid muggles.

I wonder what display costumes, if any, were actually used in the films. I felt like the exhibit, in general, was missing a lot of those sorts of explanations, which makes me feel like a lot of it wasn't.

I should have hung around with the group more after seeing the exhibit, but I was wanting to get back to my lab. The weekend proved to be too busy for the HPMA events, which just makes me sad, but was good in the "productivity" sense. I'm curious to know what you thought of the exhibit.

Most of the actors had multiple versions of their costumes, and there are bound to be changes. Having studied the Lucius Malfoy CoS costume intently, the costume they displayed was worn in the outdoor quidditch scene but it wasn't the one JI wore for the other scenes, and was more an outdoor outfit and not as posh as the other. Interesting though...

We may be going this weekend, not sure yet.
