Harry Potter Questionaire
This week has sucked. Here's a random quiz.
When did you discover Harry Potter?
8th grade. My mom got me HPSS and The Cider House Rules for Christmas. She'd gotten me Harry Potter because she saw Jo was on The Rosie O'Donnell Show and thought the book looked interesting -- she really wanted to read it herself, so it became a present for me. I read it really fast, thought it was good, but got distracted by John Irving immediately afterward. It wasn't until Goblet of Fire came out that summer (2000) that I remembered about Harry Potter. So, I picked the book up again read it in a day and needed to know the rest of the story. It was a dreadful month until I could get a copy of CoS, but I finally got a copy for my birthday. But it was when I was reading PoA shortly afterward that I stayed up all night reading until the dawn. My life has not been the same since I finished that book at my kitchen table, right after eating strawberry yogurt. (mmm)
How many times have you read the books?
Too many to count. During high school I would constantly rotate reading the first four books. I'd finish GoF just to pick up SS again, and I'd always have one of them with me. I've read the last three books significantly less, but still an unknown number of times.
What Hogwarts house would you like to be in?
Ravenclaw, baby.
What house would you be put in?
Ravenclaw, I hope. We're stackable.
Which character would you most like to pound on?
(I hope this means "pound on" as in beat up?) Umbridge. She makes my blood curl.
Which character would you most like to be friends with?
Luna's amazing.
Which Hogwarts subject would be your favourite?
Probably potions. I love to cook. It also seems very scientific.
Which teacher would be your favourite?
McGonagall. Stern, fair, to-the-point. We'd get along perfectly. Though, Flitwick seems pretty sweet, too.
Who would you most like to slip a love potion?
Draco, so I could see if Slytherins really do it better.
Which book would you most like to borrow from the Hogwarts library?
Tough one. Advanced Potion Making would probably be the most useful. However, I wouldn't mind getting a peak at Hogwarts, a History.
Which potion would you most like to brew?
I could use some Drought of the Living Dead right about now.
Which charm would you most like to perform?
I always try to use "Accio."
Who would you most like to jinx, with what?
Umbridge. Probably with something painful - like what happened to Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle at the end of OotP. That jinxing should definitely be a group effort.
If you had to kill one Weasley, who would it be?
Percy. Though, I'm extremely glad he didn't die and I cry everytime I read the part where he shows up in DH.

I'd like to combine electricity with magic. Create the wizard-equivalent of Maxwell's equations.

I'd like to see the veil.

No, never.

Is Snape evil?
No. However, he's not completely innocent. The man did have his reasons for joining the Death Eaters, and though he was working for the side of Dumbledore in the end, that does not relinquish him from the responsibility of his actions and decisions. He may have loved Lily, but he did betray her and he never renounced his Death Eater beliefs. He's not made of sunshine and roses, you know.

Which current Hogwarts student could you see becoming the future Minister of Magic?
I guess by "current" they mean Harry's age. I'd say Percy, actually - though he's not really "current" - but the question is so vague.

Umm. What's the questions? Rowling-vampires weren't really discussed. I'd rather face vampire than a werewolf - less moral conflict, I think. Though vampires are definitely scarier, too. I'd rather be a werewolf, though.

Exploding snap. I was never any good at chess.
Would you go to a Deathday party?
Yes! But I'd certainly eat beforehand.

I try, but I'm worse than Ron.

Several. Books 6 and 7 and Movies 3,4,5,6 (I think - I'm pretty sure I missed midnight parties for the first two)

On most releases. I have an awesome Luna costume. I need a decent wand, though.

Actually, I have not. At least, not that I remember.

I tend to need an occasion - like a release, or a con, or a wrock concert, or a HP club event. But, I did wear a cloak sometimes during my senior year of high school. It was pretty awesome.

Too much. A few shirts, a plush golden snitch, some pins, a wizard robe, a ravenclaw tie. I made radish earrings, and a guy gave me an awesome DH symbol necklace at LeakyCon (that he made).

All the time, when it is pertinent.

Weasley. Malfoys are odd, and Potters are lonely.

A kitty. He doesn't have to be magical, he just can't make me sneeze.

Yes. It may still exist. I actually really miss writing it.

It's something I would like to do, but it's not something that is necessary.

A wand, silly. But the Mirror of Erised would be extremely useful.

huh? That doesn't make any sense. I'd fight Voldemort if anyone's life was on the line, and I could do something about it.

Maybe. If I was innocent, I think I'd have a small chance.
