About halfway or so through, my grandma had a heart attack. She had been in a nursing home for about 8-9 years before this from three strokes, and the hospital was ( Read more... )

My deepest condolences on the loss of your grandmother. I'm sure she was very grateful that you visited her as often as you did.

My grandmother had a stroke two years ago and hasn't been the same since. Having to make that kind of adjustment is nothing short of challenging.

It was hard for her and us, though she was definitely happier when she was put in a home because she had people to talk to and be around. How has your grandma been doing since her stroke?

She's lost the ability to read and her ability to walk has also decreased considerably. Her mood has not changed much, but I think it's mostly because she's not entirely aware of what's happened to her. We've been hoping that she would regain her ability to read, but it's not looking so good now, and she really loved reading.

I... don't even think I can comment well enough on this one with anything other than an "I am so.. so very sorry.."

If it's any consolation whatsoever to say my dear cublet is...that she's no longer suffering.

That's what I believe is the best I can say..

*nodnods* I'm very grateful for that. I hated seein her in so much pain, and now she doesn't have to hurt anymore.

keep those plushes close, in lieu of a potentially hostile family member. They are love. Whatever you put into them.

May your grandmother find happiness and may you not feel the sting of her passage so hard, you know she wouldnt have wanted you deathly pained by it.

*bear hugs*
