Watched two movies yesterday, both about pianists: Shine (which I had seen before) and The Pianist (which I had not). Both are excellent films, though the pianist is... hard to watch. about half way through I went and got a bottle of scotch. Drinking usually doesn't do much for me in terms of release from emotion, but a little numbness helps in ( Read more... )

Ha I remember that movie. Harvey Keitel in it I think? That flick was a laugh riot.

yeah as I recall you were the only one that stayed and watched the rest of it with Sarah.

The rest of us took off to drink heavily... but we were college students on a saturday night, so that was to be expected.

Hahah! I remember with the Piano, I was in my room in Stadium, and a bunch of people moved en masse from watching it with Sarah and Dave... they all had this blank stare of nothingness, which shifted to rage. It was then that I decided never to watch that movie. Ever. Same reason I don't watch that Lost Highway movie.

I really liked the Pianist. Adrien Brody was awesome in it, and my lameass agoraphobic self related to the shut-in-ness of it.
