Today I had my first successful and proportionately balanced date in months, if not over a year with a guy I will refer to as Pharaoh. Pharaoh surprisingly called me last night, and asked me to lunch today. It's rare these days that I'm asked on dates; there are only so many gays in the area. Plus I've been out of the dating game for a while, so I figured why not give it a chance. He was a random guy that added me via facebook and spoken to on the phone a few times. He appeared to be cute and seemed normal, so I gave it a shot.
A man that knows how to set the scene is always a turn-on; I hate being asked to decide where. I called him to tell him I was free for lunch, and before I could think of a place, he already had one in mind: Hello Sushi. I hadn't had sushi in almost a year (good sushi, at least.) After An order of pork dumplings, a Johnny and Crunchy roll later, we filled one another with a a brief life story, and felt no discomfort doing so. Extra points were awarded to us both for not bringing up any previous relationships. (that is a MUST if you want to start the ball rolling in the right direction) This date worked quite well as an ice breaker. Plus he's a cute, good humored smoker, just like me. And how rarely does one find that?
