It's beginning to look...
One more week baby, then Christmas break!
Tuesday night I was struck down by this pretty nasty fluish thing... was out of school Wednesday and Thursday. It's always a pain because making sub plans takes FOOOOOREVER. I could be mean and do the bare minimum, but I know as a sub not having detailed plans can be a nightmare. When I was back yesterday I got such an overwhelming sense of being missed by the kids. Obviously I haven't seen this particular sub in action, but I think our styles are VERY different. I'm quite mellow and more calm with the students, and they were telling me that she was louder and was so glad I was back. While it's a bit disheartening to know your class isn't having a good day without you, I can't lie that having them miss me felt good.
I'm going to attempt these cupcakes this week for our last day together... daunting but I feel up to the task:
Yum! I'm really going to have to perfect my frosting consistency to get that gorgeous tree. And I'll probably need to settle for a yellow fondont star on top, but I'll get some edible glitter to sprinkle on top.
Looks like I'll most likely be heading home to Wenatchee for the first part of Christmas break... 17th-21st. Excited to see everyone and make up for lost time when I was hit with the plague there this summer. Should be able to get some good winter pics amongst the snow.
So now time to be honest about SPN. This season started with so much potential for me, what with the brotherly angst... "This is what's real" stuff. However, the last 4ish episodes have UNDERWHELMED me. I can see how they're trying to have a S1 flavor, but it's missing the mark for me. And while I love Bobby (I promise I doooo!), I miss brother emphasis. *sigh* I guess we'll see what happens after hiatus. Although, THIS FACE, will never get old:
