I've found the only way to avoid experiencing moments of profound disgust with the stupidity and culpability of the human race in general is to avoid all contact with them. Sadly, this policy hasn't really worked out for me.

BTW, are you going to be doing the GAMA thing this year?

Yup. I'll be there with bells on.

Well, minus the bells.

It's a strange mindset that I don't "get" either, but it's not uncommon and it's not just vs. gay rights. Black leaders and suffragettes also seem like they could have been natural allies fighting for the right to vote and be counted as individuals, but it didn't happen that way.

Exactly. I just don't get how people who should so clearly see reasons to stand together don't. It boggles my mind. Then again, humanity often does that...

CNN would be another one of those channels that could use a "Surgery-Show Detector" like I outlined on Monday.

"Whoah. You just turned to CNN. Are you sure? Are you really sure? Please press this arcane key combination to view CNN."

I've been telling people to repeat the anti-gay screeds by replacing the words "gay" and "homosexual" with the word "Jew." Just cut and paste, and do a little word replacement. Where it says, "marriage is between one man and one woman," change it to say, "marriage is between one christian man and one christian woman" or "two christians." Read it out loud.

You'll be shocked how much it sounds like Nazi propoganda. We've all been down this road before, folks.

The black leader would most likely defend their position based on the fact that they were born black and had no choice in the situation and that gay people make the choice to be who they are.

I am not saying this is correct, but it would most likely be their argument.

Oh, I know. There's always a justification for a stupid opinion, despite the fact that the justification is often as stupid...

I guess free speech entitles everyone to an opinion. That doesn't mean it will be a well formed and well thought out one.
