Blu-Ray kind of means nothing to me right now because of the lack of HDTV and I really don't understand it. I don't rent movies here in Korea or anything, so the BR capabilities will go unused for a while.

The thing is, the days of mega-exclusive games are (maybe?) almost over, and I've checked the release calendars for the next 6 months to a year, and I don't see anything on the 360 that I'll miss that is unavailable to me. I mean other than Fable II which was already released, and honestly I can barely tell the difference between Gears and Resistance.

Mostly I've defected because:

a) online is free; and
b) no history of serious hardware problems.

As for Metal Gear, I didn't even make it through 3 (which I OWNED) so I'm not sure how I feel about it, despite it's massively great reviews. I got really frustrated with 3's "play five minutes, watch 10 minutes of cutscenes" gameplay, and it sounds like that's been cranked to 12 for 4.

Final Fantasy has kind of lost it's appeal to me after I (very recently) slogged my way through Crisis Core on the PSP. I just don't really get it, despite loving FF VII. I think it's the futuristic/metrosexual protagonists and too-meta storylines that throw me.

I just bought the $5 Song Summoner for my ipod and it is BREAKING MY BRAIN.

Also, I remember when my roomie got Final Fantasy X-2 and i told him it seemingly "put the fantasy in Final Fantasy." Scantily clad ladies changing outfits for superpowers. Weird.

BUT SERIOUSLY METAL GEAR TWO IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE GAME EVER.

And I was primarily a sports gamer, so that's saying a lot.
