I discovered over the weekend (during the brief time I was actually home) that I couldn't connect to the internet. The wireless icon thingie was saying it wasn't connected and no matter what I tried (rebooting the router, restarting my computer, checking the various Verizon boxes that are in the basement and outside) would fix it. So I called Verizon this morning and he ran me through all the things I had already tried.
Then he asked me to read the error message that I was getting from the Wireless Network thingie (don't you love my technical jargon?). I told him it said that there were no networks in range and then it said something about checking to see if the wireless button on my laptop was on. He asked if the button was on and I didn't know what the button was. Turns out it's one of those buttons at the top of my keyboard that I never pay attention to. I pressed it, it turned blue, and everything was hunky-dory. I laughed over my stupidity and felt like an idiot, but all was well.
Turns out my dad was trying to find the volume button the other day and was pressing buttons, which resulted in him turning off the internet connection. Daddy is no longer allowed to press buttons on my laptop. He really needs to get the main computer fixed so he doesn't need to use mine anymore.
I am beyond exhausted from the Mid-Winter Scottish & Irish Festival that I attended on Saturday and Sunday. Despite the somewhat not-too-enthusiastic crowd, we had a blast dancing like lunatics. There were a bunch of fantastic bands there, several of which I've never seen before. I didn't hear anything I didn't enjoy. Shane and Iain, my nephews, managed to get the majority of the bands to sign the backs of their shirts. Good times. I'll post pictures after I get them uploaded because you know I love picspams.
