One can never have too many books to read or pints of ice cream to eat

My trip to the library this morning resulted in me leaving with five books:

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown (I am probably one of the only people in the world who have not yet read this book)

The Fasting Girl: A True Victorian Medical Mystery by Michelle Stacey (about this girl in 1865 who took to her bed with a ( Read more... )

the DaVinci Code is a quick read. and i've always wanted to read "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" so let me know how it is. :D

it's been too hot here to mow the lawn; the lawn isn't even growing anymore. but i feel your pain all the same. :D

I will definitely let you know how the book is.

I waited until after 5pm when the whole lawn is mostly covered in shade, before I set out to mow it. It wasn't so bad if I didn't think about it and I had my music to distract me.

I love The Historian.

conversely, one of my friends described DaVinci as the worst thing she'd ever read. another kept writing DOOM on the inside margins.

needless to say, I await your opinions on both. heheh.

Hehehe, if it weren't a library book, I might consider writing DOOM in it. Sounds like fun.

I don't know when I'll get to it as the other books seem more interesting.

did you ever get to the movie? it was pretty lame--but good for MST purposes.

No I didn't. I figure I'll rent it after I read the book. I didn't want to see it very much until I saw the preview a bit ago and realized that Paul Bettany is in it. Even if he is a creepy albino monk-guy, I'll watch it for him.

And I'm always up for watching a movie for MST purposes.

I have yet to read The DaVinci Code as well. I have my mom's copy in my trunk but there's always been something more exciting to read.

Yeah, that's why I haven't read it yet. I figured I add it to my pile since the library had one copy left on the shelf. We'll see if I get around to reading it as The Historian is rather thick.
