Movies, the Amish, and paranoia
Saw LXG this afternoon. Three other people in the theater. It was nice. Finally saw the preview for The Order. It’s like A Knight’s Tale reunion or something. I definitely want to see that one. LXG was okay, nothing to write home about. It did leave me wanting to read the stories of all the characters though. Must get myself to the library one of these days.
I got sucked into watching I Love the 80s on VH1. Watched ‘86 and most of ‘88. Had to force myself to get my lazy ass off the couch and shut off the TV. But I do feel like watching the 200 Pop Icons thing that starts tonight. Unless my parents are watching something else. Then I won’t watch it. Well, I’ll just catch one of the many reruns.
Rented Devil’s Playground and watched it this afternoon. It’s about when Amish kids turn 16 and they go off and be “english.” They’re supposed to figure out if they actually want to join the Amish church or not. It was fascinating. I pretty much know nothing about the Amish and this enlightened me to a bit of what they believe. I recommend it. It’s short and well-done and very interesting.
I think I’m getting paranoid. My bank balance seems to be off by quite a bit. I just put a paycheck in the bank the end of last week and I seem to be missing over $200. Maybe it was people cashing checks late or something, but I would really like to see my monthly bank statement thingie to figure this out.
