Just got back from the doctor's.
Hunter is doing great. Totally healthy. He did really well this time too. I didn't give him his goldfish crackers until we got in to the exam room. There was almost no crying until the very last 2-3 minutes. He didn't cry at all while he was being examined. It was great. Usually he screams bloody murder from the time we get in to the exam room until we leave because he's been so traumatized by doctors offices.
He's 25 lbs and 33 inches tall. That puts him in the 25th percentile for both (75% of boys are bigger than he is). He's small but then so am I so it's not surprising. The important thing is that he's growing.
My iron is apparently fine. She said my level was "26". I didn't ask her what level this was referring to and all my google searches didn't help either.
1) On average, normal healthy hemoglobin levels for healthy women, the normal range is between 12 and 16 g/dL. (international units 7.4 - 9.9 for women).
2) Normal serum iron levels are: Women: 50 to 170 g/dL
3) Normal ferritin level = Female: 12-150 ng/ml
So I don't know if it refers to one of those or none. But it's not something she's concerned with. I do have an overactive thyroid though, most likely. Not 100% sure. The first test they did on it came back positive for hyperthyroidism, the backup test they do to make sure it wasn't a "false positive" came back normal. They're going to recheck everything at the end of this month and end of April. I looked up HT and I have practically every symptom though so I'm pretty sure that's what it is.
