Change 'o plans

We had been looking forward to a visit to Black Mountain, NC, this weekend with the rest of my sweetie's family, but he has come down with the flu and we're staying put. So far I'm ok, and making sure I wash my hands and get enough sleep/vitamins. Instead of packing for a trip, we had soup for dinner* and he crashed early.

Maybe this is the calm before the storm; I have a ton of art modeling scheduled for the next six weeks. While I will really miss seeing the family for Easter, now I'll have a few days to rest up before life gets hectic again. Who knows, in between laundry and soup-making, I might just get back to the easel again. That would be wonderful! I haven't been able to paint or draw in weeks...and I recently got several lovely new brushes I can't wait to try out. :)

*For those of you who live near a Trader Joe's, I discovered a way to make a delicious at-home wonton soup! Heat some broth (chicken or vegetable), add sliced green onions and thinly sliced carrots (I used a vegetable peeler to make strips) and simmer for a few minutes. Then toss in some of their frozen goyza/pot stickers and heat till soft. Yum! I tried the chicken and pork goyza, and have some Thai veggie to try tomorrow. Mmmm....
