So, the inevitable day is getting closer. Only 5 working days until I am made redundant and by the look of it those days are going to be long and boring. It all ends on the 27th of June, with a big buffet lunch on the 27th. I’m the only person left in the department that hasn’t got anywhere to go at the end and the only one to be claiming ‘you aint got no job’ redundancy (as opposed to voluntary redundancy).
Aw well. Im not all that fussed. As opposed to everyone else, I don’t have any responsibilities in my life to have to worry about. The money is nice, but I can survive on the dole without having to be worried about my car or my kids or my house. Plus, im actually looking forward to being even lazier indoors without having to worry about getting up for work! Fingers crossed that I manage to find somewhere before my redundancy runs out though (3 months). I’ve applied for a reception admin at the place I used to work, so I’m hopeful to at least get an interview for that one, as they already know me.
My friends have all been super uber nice to me recently. Fleet (*hugs*) gave me a copy of Bastion and Mecks (*hugs*) gifted me with a copy of Cities XL to play. With the copies of Magic 2013 and Torchlight 2 I have on preorder, that means a lot of new games to play when I’m unemployed! AND ive still got the money for the Diablo 3 collectors edition put aside.
Bastion is a cartoonish hack and slash set in the aftermath of a great cataclysm which has reduced the world to a broken, floating landscape. The whole of the story and your actions are narrated by a guy that sounds like Samuel L. Jackson. The musical score is great, but the stages are short, the puzzles silly easy and the narration gets on my wick sometimes. You don’t need to tell me what I’m doing, ‘cos I’m in the middle of doing it! Over all, a very nice game!
Cities XL is a Simcity clone with more emphasis on micromanaging resources, unemployment levels and commerce than individual buildings. I’ve only played a small bit before I got in over my head, as the learning curve is rather steep. One gripe already is that the building of road and plots is bloody difficult and not at all intuitive. Roads will go where ever the damn they please, and wont automatically make enough room for buildings. Being 1mm out with a road means the entire building layout goes tits up, and attempting curved roads is asking for trouble. Not sure about this game yet.
It seems to be going very well with Zeigenbock and I. Well actually its going VERY well. I happened to mention the possibility of falling for him if he kept being to sweet to me, and he said that ‘in which case, he was very excited that I was coming up to see him’. Yesterday, I was talk to the Kent furs on Skype, and Noha said ‘Nice commish’ to me. I was confused, what commission? He pointed me to Apes Fur Affinity site. It was a picture of Zeig and I lounging together in the sun! Zeig had commissioned Apes to do the pic for us! Ill post it on here later. Of course this made me squee all over the place! Then, whilst I was telling Zeig what a naughty little goat he was for doing it, he used the phrase ‘my sloth’.
‘MY sloth’. MY Sloth. I squeed even harder. The only way I could stop myself from feeling too fuzzy and warm was to annoy Suleiman by sneakily feeding Wu advanced units to help her in the war on Civ V. That calmed me down a bit.
I just hope I don’t fuck it up. I’m already worried that I’m too fat and stupid to be with him! Were not an item yet, but its looking good for the future!
Also Aggy and Red are back together. I knew it would be ok in the end.
