Not much going on really. My birthday came and went. Got some money from members of the family, Torchlight 2 from Wuff and bear, a preview of a new release from Fleet, and an Amazon voucher from the guys at work. Plus 2 ATO’s and shiteload of inf in City of Heroes from some random guy who heard it was my birthday! The guys at work were a little bit shocked when I said I wasn’t doing anything for my birthday, doubly shocked when I said that I didn’t have a cake. Its only my 31st, its not like it’s a big special one. Plus I prefer ice creams or cheesecakes than actual cake. Cant really have a birthday strawberry cheesecake.

I also got a card from Zeigenbock! So happy that he thought of me! He seems happy for me to come up and said that hes looking forward to spending some time with me! SQUEE!  I really hope this means that hes actually interested in more than just being friends.

One thing that has saddened me of late (besides the whole redundancy / work thing) and that’s the breaking up of Aggy and Red. They kind of announced it via Facebook and a couple of other places. It’s horrible horrible news and made me really upset. I immediately tried to talk to Galford and Mecks, thinking that they would have better luck getting information out of the pair than I would, only to find out that they already knew and weren’t getting involved. This pissed me off even more. Mecks even flat out refused to tell me anything!

I said that Aggy and Red were my friends too and asked why they hadn’t told me. Mecks said it was their business and had nothing to do with us, so we should stay out of it. I was incensed! Like fuck it had nothing to do with us! Two of my best friends have ended a ‘happy’ relationship and are now miserable. In my book, that’s wrong. It’s even worse when we don’t try to do something about it! Aggy and Red are perfect for each other, and I can see Aggy being really hurt by the split. Red’s hurting too, but he’s stubborn and wilful so will be able to cope better. It’s hurting me by not knowing anything about it as no one will speak about it! My own personal feelings about Aggy aside, I can only see their split as being a bad thing overall.

I’m staying as much out of it as I can, but it’s uncomfortable not to go down their, knock their heads together and lock them in a room until they sort it out.

On a lighter note, I bought a game called Stacking on Steam.

It’s a charming little puzzle game based on Russian dolls. Its set during the Victorian industrial period and has a Art deco, early ‘silent’ film style. It concerns a little guy called Charlie Blackmore. His family are poor and when their father goes to work one day, he doesn’t come back. They sell everything they have, but after a while they cant pay the rent any longer. The evil baron come in and takes the children into slavery to pay off their rent. Incensed by this injustice, he leaves his mother at home and goes to release his siblings from child labour. The aim of the game is to fight against the capitalist adults and end child labour throughout England by manipulating the adults into revolting and striking. You do this by ‘stacking’ with the other characters in the game and using their special skills to influence the world. You can only stack with a doll that’s one size bigger than you, but then you can use that doll to stack with the next larger one and so on. Dolls have a wide range of powers, such as sipping tea, farting, jumping, screaming for help, playing a drum, smoking, seducing male dolls, slapping people around the face with a glove, puking, having a sugar rush, flying, tap dancing, abusing people, having dramatic death scenes, tantrums or in one case, dragging his arse along the floor. You get bonuses for completing puzzles, finding special characters or using certain powers in certain ways, such as punching mimes, scaring babies until they cry or smoking in the face of poor people. Some of the puzzles are hard and require certain dolls and doll combinations. The only world that encompasses the whole game is ‘Charming’.

Ive also bought Plants Vs Zombies, but I don’t really have to tell you about that game.
