well, the past week hasn't been as hectic as the first weekend was but it's been busy all the same and with just as many highlights. being able to see and spend time with everyone has been great and i have been feeling like a pretty lucky girl to have so many awesome, interesting and loving people in my life (even if they are usually a few provinces away).

after my first weekend i decided to lay pretty low and spent a couple days just chilling with charlene and kristina and by wednesday was ready to kick it up a notch or two. i met siobhan and frank downtown where sio was helping frank buy "adult" clothes (not of the leather harness variety - sorry). we soon convinced frank that clothes shopping was pointless and headed out for some drinks. after some hot and sour soup (frank, i miss our soup trips so much!) at salad king (which only had three salads on the menu and was really a thai place) we headed out to college street to find a patio. we settled down at cucina and were planning on only having a couple drinks before heading out for sushi. unfortunately, the sushi never materialized and sio and i just decided to get drunk unstead. after a while frank took off (i think out girl-talk did it) and sio and i moved inside to continue drinking.

this is brenna. by the time brenna and paul (her fella) showed up sio and i were already drunk and i'm pretty sure we had our outdoor voices on much to the dismay of the staff at the bistro.

this is sio trying to convince frank (who's on the other end of the phone she's holding in her hand) to pick us up at the bistro and take us to a bar on roncesvalles (sp?). her methods of persuasion were less then subtle but so hilarious i just fell in love with her all over again. after the bistro sio pussied out and brenna, paul and i continued on to the local where we met up with adri and had another pint. after the local, adri and i went back to her place to blaze one and had a great chat. what exactly we talked about i can't remember now but it's always good to talk with adri and i do remember having a great time.

the next day was a little rough but i'm glad i got myself up early so i could enjoy a bit of a wander around downtown. i met up with tyler at about 1 and he treated me to an awesome lunch at fresh. after the restaurant we headed back to ty's where we chilled on his balcony before having to go our seperate ways.

after ty's i headed out to my old hood in scarborough. i stopped by my neighbour's house and we had an awesome visit then i headed over to glen's for the rest of the night.

the next day nicky came and picked me up and we headed downtown to get some shopping done.

this is us in trinity square by the eaton centre. the shopping trip wasn't as plentiful as i had hoped but we still found some cool stuff. after queen street and the eaton centre we quickly popped into the world's biggest bookstore to have a look around. considering what book geeks we both are we found some stuff quick then headed out to meet faye at city hall. unfortunately, the weatherman was right about there being a rainstorm that afternoon. remember when the sky opened up just after 5? yeah, nick and i walked through the worst of that and got silly soaked in the process. we should have just waited it out but it was great fun either way and eventually our clothes dried so it was all good.

after we met up with faye we headed out to the rivoli for dinner with ty, joe and jasmine.

after dinner we headed back to faye's where she had a crazy yummy cheesecake waiting. oh man, that thing was so good. it was all creamy and had just the perfect amount of chocolate swirls and fresh berries! i know i seem too excited about this but seriously, that was some fine cake. after cake we retired to the shed and listened to tunes, blazed and chatted the night away. mikey showed up around 12 but we had to split soon after since i had that wedding the next day and nicky had to work.

the wedding wasn't as outrageous as i was expecting but there was a fair amount of italian opulence.

in true, i-tie fashion my cousin's dress was HUGE and doors everywhere were widen just to fit the skirt through. this shot is of their first dance, which was to some cheesy 80s song, i wasn't going to take pictures but as soon as i saw the smoke machine i was right at the edge of the dance floor. i haven't seen anyone use a smoke machine at a wedding reception in forever. i remember when i was a kid in the 80s they would use them all the time. mind you, back then italian wedddings were stupid big with like 500 people and so the addition of a smoke machine didn't seem so outlandish. i almost expected a bubble machine as well but alas, twas not to be...

this is me and my mom out front out my folk's place.

this is my cousin tony, the brother of the bride. while he wasn't the only family member wasted that night he was the only wasted one to make a speech. half stumbling, he makes his way to the microphone and makes this slightly threatening speech about how pauline is his little sister then leaves this huge pause after and everyone is just looking at each other like, is this guy gonna throw a punch or his lunch? eventually, he ended it on a nice note but it was my favourite drunk brother speech EVER.

these are my parents. as you can tell from the death grip he's got my mom in my dad is drunk. he wasn't completely wasted but he was definately buzzing and it was quite the sight for my siblings and i to behold. a couple times he pulled me out on the dance floor (we did the twist!) and while we've never really gotten along very well we did have fun together that night.

speaking of drunk family members, look at this kid! this is robert my cousin santina's son. by the end of the evening all 5 of her kids were passed out in the hall somewhere which in my tipsy state of mind was hilarious.

the next day nicky and i headed over to charlene's for some wine, cheese and good times.

it's been a year since the three of us were last together and it was good to hang out like we did back in the day.

monday night i headed downtown to see tyler. we hung out at his house and watched the devil and daniel johnston which was great. if you haven't seen it you should. we also bought so much candy and soda i think i might have diabetes. i also discovered that brio (the italian soft drink!) is not as good as i remembered. i've been drinking san pelligrino chinotto as a replacement but seriosuly, that shit is way better so brio, sorry, you're cut.

the next night (being last night) nicky and i headed downtown to the tranzac to see mikey, ahem, i mean to see now yr taken play.

this is mikey and faye being adorable.

that's mikey and i out front of the tranzac. the set was great and i don't have much else to say other than that it was great to get some more time with faye and mikey and that i am mad proud of mikey's mad skills with a guitar and some pedals.

okay, this has taken forever to write and i'm too lazy to spellcheck. so forgive me my typos and i'll catch you all later.
