Survived having a small group of Gin-ophytes over for blind-tasting, well ... gin last night. Obviously had too much fun because I was so worn out that I managed to fall asleep when I got home from some Sunday afternoon plans and slept through my Sunday Evening plans.
What I learned:
* expensive does not mean better (the three worst were all expensive gins)
* I already owned almost all of the ones I liked best (one new addition - Damrak)
* For all the hype, I was indifferent about Junipero
* Boodles and beefeater were better than I expected
* Sapphire was worse.
* fire is cool
Top 6 Gin's on my list: (in no specific order)
* Hendricks
* Miller (westmore)
* Miller (standard)
* Damrak
* Bluecoat
* Tanqueray 10
Three all time worst (none of us would take them home)
1. Genenervive - bad enough to burn with lighter fluid
2. Quientssential - horrid and met the sink
3. Magellan - only its color is interesting
