Learning experiences

Its been an exciting week, since my dogs decided to make a join suicide pact and off themselves with pain pills.
I've learned loads of fun and exciting stuff like:
* Somehow drug companies miss the concept that making a pill for dogs that can destroy their kidneys if taking in higher than prescribed dosages flavored like meat is stupid
* Blazer can get a pill bottle off of a cabinet when it is placed at eye level
* He can also open a bottle without damaging the cap
* Sasha is a chowhound, even though blazer did the dirty work she ate the majority of the pills
* Induced vomiting with a charcoal (to mop up the excess) chaser is about $250 per dog (ignoring the $150 per dog I'll be paying in blood tests in two weeks)
* I am paranoid. I became convinced while waiting for a vet update that I had killed my dogs and obsessively went through my credit cards to make sure I could handle 5k per dog on them (if they weren't dead) in case the kidneys went. In the end, the total bill was under $600.

On the positive front, I paid $200 to a dog behaviorist and got some great insight into how to train Sasha (who is completely deaf), the coolest being that they make a device that vibrates to get the dogs attention when they take off. Its going to be a long haul, I'm currently teaching "look at me" to her.

Work sucks, everyone sitting around grousing about the layout. Hopefully the rumors (and my gut) which claim 50% cuts are wrong about my group or it will be painful all around (those who leave and those who stay). However I'm writing a presentation for Friday which uses "Santa Claus Incorporated" as an example (which is a blast)
