The boys and middle aged men of fall.....
So, I am kicking up here in Andover, Mass. doing a week of fun in my private suite. I was kind of looking forward to a low level hurricane but all I got was yet another dreary rainy day. On the plus side though, the storm brought in some really nice waves that are kind of foreign to this place. So a co-worker of mine and I decided to go up the coast road and see Salem, go to some killer witchcraft shops and do some needless spending of money. Fun but did not find anything really mindblowing except for some killer clothes which I failed to buy since some people do not answer the phone when well meaning lovers call to find out ones size.
sigh...
So after getting some wonderful coffee and looking at looking into some fantastic antique stores we decided to go up the coast and see Hampton beach to watch the waves come in and look at the surfers. These people border on suicidal. New England style beaches are not fine white sand and pleasent coves, they are jagged rocks and moss covered stones right below the waters surface. Yet surf they did and seemed to enjoy it although with the temp of the water I imagine some significant shrinkage occured. We took some pics on my co-workers camera phone and headed back to the hotel. The mist came in and covered the seaside towns as the sun went down. All you saw was lights burning in the fog.
Twas' beautiful.
On the more pedestrian side, I have been downloading my tv and movies to some enjoyment and extreme horror. Loving "Fringe" and "Heroes" is fun and off putting as always. "Mama Mia" is a fun and crazy good feel good movie. "Starship Troopers 3" produced a different feeling... one of horror. How does one franchise continue to continue without any redeeming qualities. All I was looking for was some cool bug killing death action and what I got was so much less. Blech comes to mind.
I need to get back on my Rosetta Stone. Been indulging in WoW a bit too much lately and it has been consuming what free time I have. It was one of my new year promises to learn a new language by the end of the year but I have slacking way too much.
Gotta go make some dinner new for me and my roomie.
