Again, the best of the orange blog over the past year. I know, I've written less blog entries this year than the last, but I'd still like to think I wrote better blog entries this time around. At least until I started doing them in trickles. And no,
this is not aimed at you. Things have changed, I believe, for the better... and yet they haven't panned out as well as they should.
About the author (4 Jan)If I eventually decided to release a book based on all the blog entries I wrote, this would be the foreword. Or the first chapter, if some hotshot decides to write my foreword.
The problem with rainbows and a vivid imagination (9 Jan)I'll admit, I had fun writing this blog entry, partly because it's scary.
Creepy little sneaky little (5 Feb)An inspired blog entry about a topic that doesn't usually attract inspired blog entries, this is perhaps the last ode to that thing.
New something (27 Feb)I barely write blogs like this now, but it's more because we don't have enough material. Also, it's the first entry featuring the wonders of Gwen Foster.
Wishing for an audience, attempt number nine hundred sixty-six (6 Mar)In hindsight I'm not really proud of this blog entry, because I kinda rushed it, but this still marks five years of the orange blog.
Rushing (14 Mar)Continuing the theme of me being bewildered at how the younger folks turn out, this.
The space between (29 Mar)In case you're wondering, I haven't had the chance to check my yearbook DVD yet. If you aren't wondering about that, well, I'll let you click on the link.
New York cut (16 Apr)In theory this is supposed to be a glance into how my thought process works. In practice this is me talking about a pretty girl I saw.
Project Allison: the introduction (10 May)Project Allison: the Paragon collide (11 May)Project Allison: the long wait (12 May)Project Allison: the gig itself (13 May)Project Allison: the photograph (14 May)Five blog entries, spread across a week, documenting perhaps the best (and most nerve-wracking) ten hours of my life. The things you do for Allison Iraheta, who I still believe deserves a record deal, as opposed to that boy who has to reaffirm his being a boy. Epic fail, Jive.
String bikinis (22 May)A stab at writing more observational blog entries, featuring a bit of detective work. Okay, not exactly detective work.
Questions from grandfathers (11 Jun)Another observational blog entry, which I somehow particularly like.
Problem is, you're freaking awesome and I'm bleeping delusional (27 Jul)I'm not putting this on the list because it's my 1000th entry. I'm putting this here because I just think this entry is awesome... even if it does read a bit freaky.
Spring cleaning: the beginning (9 Aug)Spring cleaning: the early days, part one (10 Aug)Spring cleaning: the early days, part two (11 Aug)Spring cleaning: the thought bubbles (12 Aug)Spring cleaning: the hard stuff, part one (13 Aug)Spring cleaning: the hard stuff, part two (14 Aug)Spring cleaning: the campaigns (15 Aug)
Spring cleaning: the writing (16 Aug)Spring cleaning: the things I can't fit, part one (17 Aug)Spring cleaning: the things I can't fit, part two (18 Aug)Yes, I've done two huge blog projects this year, with this one stemming from a camera, a bunch of hidden college artifacts, and the hope that people bond over the memories I unearth. The Facebook mirror of the campaigns-related blog entry, I think, was the most successful.
Fatigue (30 Aug)I miss pouring my heart out like this, especially when it really, really hurts.
Attacked by the show (13 Sep)Here's my love letter to Olivia Munn. Seriously, I did this.
Manhaterisms (28 Sep)I think I'm starting to develop this theme of admitting that, yes, we guys suck a lot. I haven't followed this up yet, though.
Swerving (29 Sep)I like it when I write a long blog entry based on a conversation without relying on a transcript or something. Also helps that this came in at a fairly critical moment of my year. At least until it tanked.
The grocery instinct (30 Oct)Another example of those long blog entries, only this was supposed to be two blog entries.
Lost in my own alma mater (12 Nov)In case you haven't noticed it, I'm the most insecure person in the world, and this blog entry proves my point. That, or I've been doing the wrong things to prevent myself from sinking.
My, you've grown (17 Nov)This was supposed to be three blog entries. I'm surprised it really, really worked.
Communication breakdown? (24 Dec)I'll end with this, my traditional Christmas eve entry, because it also sums up the whole year. I mean, duh.
