Grizzly Man: I highly recommend it to everyone. It is a documentary about this dude (Timothy Treadwell), who is (was) a really inspirational person who believed that bears are a highly misunderstood gentle and intelligent species that deserve more than the standard degree of conservation in the wild. He therefore, after years of drug and alcohol abuse, saw himself as the ambassador and protector of the bears, spending 13 summers living amongst them, filming over 100 hours of footage, often alone. Unfortunately he ended up invading the personal space of a particularly hungry and aggressive bear in the desperate weeks leading to hibernation, resulting in his death, which was also caught on audio tape (you dont hear it, but you watch someone listening to it, which is really traumatic). It is a controversial movie, as many saw his work as unnecessary/dangerous/insane.
This movie has probably been one of the best i have seen all year (granted i havent really seen any). A warning - it's heaps emotional and i recommend tissues and someone to hold close. Also don't spend the night alone in a dark creaky caravan in the middle of the bush with the trees scraping against your window after you watch it.... brrrr....

Nausicaa: this is by the same film company that did Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. It has, like those other movies, an underlying environmental message and makes you want to become the female Protagonist of the movie, however unfeasible. Nausicaa is the princess of the Valley of The Wind. She is an insect charmer, animal lover, scientist, and she saves the day. A very lovely movie, and clever for 1984.
I was given a copy of this by a three year old girl whose favourite movie it was. It reminds me of Ferngully - probably why i love it. Tissues required in this movie too (man what's WRONG with me?!).
^see these movies!

In other news i just heard there was a terrorist threat in London airports and i am flying out tomorrow fuck fuck fuck. This means i have to check in my hand luggage. How inconvenient. I guess its only a 2 hour flight to Frankfurt. Everyones gonna be heaps tightly wound on these flights.
