Decemberists, yo!

so I saw the Decemberists once again last night. They hold the record for the band I've seen live the most times. They didn't disappoint at all last night. It was in Madison (their "home away from home") at The Orpheum, and while I don't like the venue very much due to the extremely high stage, the sound and lights kind of make up for the fact that there isn't a great (i.e. close) place to watch from. Seeing as how I don't like 'The Crane Wife' much at all, I was expecting to enjoy last night's set a little less than the previous sets I saw, but that wasn't the case at all. "The Perfect Crime II" was one of the best songs of the night in my opinion. They were thrashing like rock stars for much of that song. However, undoubtedly the highlight of the night was "The Mariner's Revenge Song". Every time I've seen them perform that song live I have to remind myself that what I'm witnessing is one of the greatest moments (personally) that I'll ever have at a concert. They played "The Tain" for their encore, and I couldn't have been more pleased about that. So, to sum everything up, I love The Decemberists still.
