When I look at you all I remember is wishing on a star
When I was 4 my parents got a divorce
It was hard on all of us, but I had no understanding of what was happening or why; I was scared
So I began wishing on a star every night that my mom and dad would get back together, that I could have my family back
After years passed, I started to realize the stars weren't going to help me change my past
So I changed my tactic- I decided to wish for my future
Instead of dreading marriage and fearing the same outcome my parents had, I wished for it
I wished every night, any star that I could find for my soul mate
I wished to be dedicated, to love and be loved
And to be happy
So really, tim, what I wish wishing for all those years... Was you.
