I hesitated about whether to post this here. One the one hand, the story is written in Jim Kirk's point of view, and clearly has a lot to say about him. On the other hand, this story was explicitly inspired by my dismay about widespread portrayals of Winona Kirk as neglectful and/or abusive (or at least tolerant of abuse.) At the end of the day
