Continued from hereGripping my scythe I nodded in agreement to Wes. I stopped to really look at him and I saw hurt and loneliness in his eyes. A feeling I have well known for many years. Especially the loneliness. Never in my life have I been so alone when I became the slayer. But now that I'm not the only one it helps but since I'm here with alot ( Read more... )

Dropping the hand which was starting to reach out to touch her, I nodded. "You're welcome," I said quietly. Well, at least someone still listens to me. And I'm quite shocked that it's Buffy Summers, who did anything *but* listen to me the last time we met. How terribly ironic ( ... )

It's kind of funny how me and Wes were actually getting along. I knew we didn't exactly see eye to eye in Sunnydale but that was because of certain situations that couldn't really have been avoided. And I've grown up alot since high school and listening to people has been something I had to learn ( ... )

"The hell I will," I growled, knocking one of the demons unconscious with the book. I winced on behalf of the book, shrugged, and then tossed it aside. Reaching behind me I pulled out my shotgun and advanced on the group Buffy was tearing into. Apparently she'd not been able to play Slayer for quite a long time if the damage she was doing was anything to go by ( ... )

Ok those alarms were really starting to hurt my ears. Not exactly the lightest alarms I've ever heard. Come to think of it, the initiative alarms were alot softer than these ones. It just seemed to make the screaming and panicking louder as I saw people running and slamming doors. Just as I had finsihed off most of the demons and knocked the humans unconicous I paused looking for an easy escape route to the lab ( ... )

Nodding at her plan I gave her a worried look. I didn't really like it. Scratch that, I didn’t like it one bit. I'd seen the way she'd been favoring her good leg. Which could only mean that her wounded leg was not doing so well. Dammit, she had better not have pulled those stitches or I'll be forced to pull out my ten minute lecture at the very least ( ... )

I kept my eyes on all the demons that were in front of me. Ok that should buy him a good couple of minutes or so I thought. In theory it worked, but theories don't always play out as I'd liked them to. Finally getting up with the help of my scythe I decided that using my good leg would be good right about now. I could already hear Wesley's lecture about all of this especially pulling the stitches and still trying stupid things even with the wound. But in situations like this, I don't tend to listen to authortiy figures. Which is one thing Giles never liked and I probably gave him alot of gray hair over worrying about me so much. Again it was unnecessary. I knew my limits and I can take care of myself ( ... )

"We'll worry about that later!" I yelled back over my shoulder as we kept on running. "Your leg isn't exactly in good shape either." There will be a lecture later; she can bloody count on that. Oh yes, I'd carefully stitch it up again, since that's the only thing I can do right now. But really, does she need to make all those damn heroic moves? Who does she think she is? Wonder woman ( ... )

I continued to run and match my pace with Wesley's. Although it became more of a run and limp combination with all the running. The pain was intense but I had to stay focused and try to ignore it. I've ignored pain before, it's something that I had to learn especially with all the fights and whatnot. So it wasn't the smartest thing to be trying to be the big hero, but I wasn't about to not try. Whether it hurt me more or not. This is what I do. To fight and help people. It's my destiny and there's no esacaping it. I've even died twice to save the world ( ... )

Finally letting go of her hand, I leaned back against the lift wall and caught my breath. I blinked at her words and it took me some time to process. Did she just pay me another compliment? Someone really ought to stop the presses; this’ll be a whole issue of the new Council Paper. Good lord, if someone would've told me a few years back that Buffy Summers would not only agree with me, but would actually give me a compliment? I'd have them committed ( ... )

I looked over at Wes who looked like he was about to burst out laughing from the remark he made about him being the brains and me the brawns. Ok so I know I've been being nice to Wes so far with paying him compliments and whatnot, but I can be sarcastic just as well as he could. It was probably more shocking to him that I did actually agree with him and compliment him for once. Well just a few times, I didn't exactly listen to him at all when we were fighting ( ... )

"It was a joke, Miss Summers," I sighed. "You know us odd British types have an odd sense of humor." Which no one really got, apparently? I ought to talk to Giles about that. Wonder if it really is an English thing or if it's just me. Only Cordy got my jokes. Sometimes. Usually we just bickered a whole lot, which was fun on its own. God, I miss those times ( ... )

I slightly rolled my eyes at his comment about it being a joke. I knew that, I just liked playing with him and Giles only cause they get frustrated when I do it. Those Briitish guys need to learn to lighten up. I'll have to remember to get him some tea later. I smiled a little at that thought. Giles always calmed down with tea. It's a British thing I guess. Me, I prefer a good old cup of coffee ( ... )
