Well the good news was that Ramona wasn't as dead as Scott had been.
The bad news was there was a whole lot of talk about 'riding the glow into the subspace' that only made sense to about three people present. But that all ended with Scott stuffing himself into Ramona's bag. Yes, really. No, it made no sense - he shouldn't have even fit in there! - but that's what happened.
For several moments, nothing discernible happened. But then there was a bright, powerful flash of light, and suddenly Ramona was standing there with her bag raised, with Scott on the floor behind her, and Gideon with his sword swung like an executioner, cutting into the bag.
And then the star on the bag shattered.
And the bag exploded.
So much stuff flew out. Bras and a Rubik's cube and goggles and hats and shoes and CDs and who even kept all this junk in that small a bag? Anyway, the handle of a sword stuck out of the remains of the bag, and Ramona grabbed it.
"Gideon... I think it's safe to say it's over between us."
