I've been looking for a book that I read when I was little. I think it was published late 80s/early 90s-ish. I'm not sure. Anyway, the whole plot was about a group of girls who were attending a previously all-boys private school. I think they might be in the 5th or 6th grade. Again, I'm not sure. The main character was a "geeky" girl. I remember that one girl was all about fashion, or looks, or whatever. Another one was Spanish. That's all I remember about the girls. There are a few details that I remember from the story:
- They were waiting to be introduced to the rest of the students (all boys, obviously) and were nervous. One girl vomited on the main character.
- A few boys dropped some water balloons on one of the girls when she was going to her first class.
-The group of girls decided to go to the mall, or some public place, and met up with the Spanish girl at her family's restaurant. They tried some kind of pastry that they weren't familiar with.
- The girls were trying to do a school prank and walked in on a boy who had snuck either a goat or a pig or some kind of farm animal into the library. It was something about "chauvinist pigs" and "uppity chicks" can get along or something like that.
The cover of the book was an illustration of the library scene.
That's it. That's all I remember.
If you have an inkling of what the story is called or can point me in the right direction on finding it out, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!
