TV-series
Please help me identify the title of an American TV-series (probably mid-70s) about post-Civil War years. (NOT "Roots"). The main character's name is Tom (I think), each series begins with Tom in uniform standing among soldiers and listening to the Declaration of Independence ("All men are created equal...") The TV-series tells the story of Tom's family trying to create a colony among white citizens in the South. The series ends showing their death in the battle with Ku-Klux-Klan.
