In 2003ish my friend read a young adult book. A girl moves to a town and a popular girl becomes her friend. The new girl becomes obsessed with the popular girl. The popular girl dies because of the unpopular girl, some kind of car accident where she ended up in a ditch and died of carbon monoxide poisoning on the way to school. Any ideas?
